The South African – Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC) is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of His Excellency Mr. Geoffrey Quinton Mitchell Doidge, former Ambassador of the Republic of South African Embassy to Thailand.
Members of the Board fondly remember His Excellency for his generous and enthusiastic support of the Chambers’ activities and of South African businesses in Thailand. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.
Geoffrey Quinton Michael Doidge was born on April 26, 1954, in South Africa and was a South African politician and South Africa’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka. He had previously served as a South African Minister of Public Works from September 5, 2008, to October 31, 2010. He was also deputy chief whip of the African National Congress (ANC) – a social-democratic political party in South Africa.
He died on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the age of 68 and is survived by his wife and four children. Doidge’s funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
